Dr. Chen Chien Wei
Dr. Chen was born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah , Malaysia . Upon his completion of his SPM (Malaysian equivalent of GCE O-level) he pursued his matriculation Year 12 in Warwick , Queensland and was accepted into University of Queensland , School of Dentistry.
During his undergraduate years, he was granted a summer scholarship research project in the study of TMJ with MRI. His research paper was published in the prestige Australian Dental Journal.1995 April titled Effects of splint therapy in TMJ dysfunction: a study using Magnetic Resonance Imaging. He received his Bachelor of Dental Science (B.D. Sc) degree in 1993.
Dr. Chen first worked in Singapore with Mandarin Dental Clinic Pte Ltd. He was hand-picked to be mentored by his fellow senior colleagues in implant dentistry, orthodontics and other challenging cases in this group practice. It was here that he actively pursued post graduate training in orthodontics and implant dentistry.
In May 2002, he started Orange Dental Clinic as a solo practice in Yishun. This gave him the flexibility to decide which equipment to invest and procure while allowing him to form the staff that works best with him for his practice. The technological equipment he selected ensured the best in patient care and services for his practice.
In keeping with his philosophy of “patient-centred care”, he is known for being patient, conscientious, and takes the time to talk to his patients ensuring they are comfortable with the services to be provided.
In 2004 February, Dr. Chen received his Diploma in Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice, Royal Colleges of Dental Surgeon United Kingdom after a didactic two years course in general dental practice.
